Delaware State Police have charged a California man in the theft of a trailer holding more than $680,000 in electronics from a New Castle warehouse. Police said two men arrived in a tractor-trailer cab at a business in the 1100 block of River Road around 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 14, 2026. They identified themselves as FedEx employees and showed driver’s licenses and shipping documents, then hooked up the trailer and left.

According to a Sept. 18 police release, the tractor-trailer was found the next day parked at University Plaza in Newark. Troopers arrested Dushatdaman Parihar, 35, of Manteca, California, there. He is charged with felony theft of property valued at $100,000 or more, first- and second-degree forgery, second-degree conspiracy and displaying a fictitious registration plate. He was committed on $66,550 secured bond. Police have not publicly identified the second suspect. The charges are allegations.

The case fits the pattern of a fictitious pickup, in which thieves use a legitimate carrier’s name and paperwork to take freight at the dock. No source suggests FedEx had any role beyond the suspects’ use of its name.
