The National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc.® (NMFTA)®‘s Marli Hall will be speaking at IANA EXPO on Monday, September 14, from 10-11:00 am PT during the Safety and Security Committee Meeting in Long Beach, CA. She’ll share how NMFTA’s Freight Fraud Prevention Hub (FFPH) is bringing the industry together to combat the growing—and rapidly evolving—threats of freight fraud and cargo theft. We’ll dig into emerging trends, practical resources, and what transportation and logistics organizations can do now to better protect their freight and reduce risk.

Marli Hall is the Director of Communications and Marketing at the NMFTA, where she leads strategic communication efforts to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation within the freight transportation industry.
In this role, Marli oversees media relations, manages key messaging, and develops public relations campaigns that promote NMFTA’s initiatives, partnerships, and contributions to the sector.
She started with NMFTA in August 2022, previously serving as the director of communications and member services, and earlier as a communications specialist.

NMFTA’s Joe Ohr will take the stage at IANA EXPO for Cyber Security: Mitigating Operational Risk for Intermodal Networks, alongside Terry Kurzynski of HALOCK at 2:00 pm PT on Wednesday, September 16. The session will explore how cyberattacks can move beyond IT systems to disrupt terminals, rail operations, container flows, and other critical transportation operations. Attendees will walk away with practical strategies to identify vulnerabilities, reduce exposure, strengthen response readiness, and build resilience across increasingly connected intermodal networks.

Joe Ohr has more than two decades of experience in technical operations, customer success management, IT, customer support, and product support.
Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer for the NMFTA, he plays a pivotal role in helping to advance the industry through digitization, classification, and cybersecurity.
